adidas Drop The 'Beyond Fast' Pack

Dressed out for those special Champions League nights, adidas launch the ‘Beyond Fast’ pack, with new colourways for the X Speedportal and Predator Edge.

Confirming what we expected after we saw Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min training and then playing against Marseille in his shiny new pair last week, adidas have officially lifted the veil on the ‘Beyond Fast’ pack, a new Champions League-inspired colourway for the X Speedportal and Predator Edge. The design is inspired by the two Champions League official match balls from adidas, with the silver base being lifted straight from the women’s ball and the multi-colour accents coming from the men’s ball.

Starting with the X Speedportal, and as we saw from the early preview from Son, it comes in a silver look with the coloured accents playing through the Three Stripe branding and through the heel, using the exact colour pops as appear on the men’s UCL ball. Following the Game Data, Shadowportal and Messi’s recent signature, this is the fourth look for the Speedportal since its launch and will be seen mainly in the Champions League going forward.

As for the Predator Edge, it’s a very similar story, with the silver base playing host to the pops of colour that play out once again through the Three Stripe branding on the heel, but also through the rubber elements of the Zone Skin in the forefoot. The execution of the colour on the Three Stripes on both this boot and the Predator give off a blurred look from afar, similar to what was done on the ‘Edge of Darkness’ Predator Edge, offering a subtle way to keep branding fresh and part of the design.
