adidas Launch The 'Meteorite Pack'

Following up the launch of the X Speedflow, adidas complete what is now a three-silo setup ahead of the new season, with the launch of the full ‘Meteorite Pack’.

The next generation X Speedflow heralded the arrival of the  ‘Meteorite Pack’ when it dropped last week, and now the final two pieces of the preseason puzzle drop into place with the arrival of the Predator Freak and COPA Sense in full corresponding red suits. That’s right, there’s no more Nemeziz in the Three Stripe setup, something that was made all the clearer when Lionel Messi played and won the Copa America in his own signature X Speedflow.

So the ‘Meteorite Pack’ brings a uniform red look to the Three Stripe’s roster ahead of the new season. The idea of the red is all centred around the flagship boot of the pack – the X Speedflow – and it’s affinity for being just all-round fast. So the Predator Freak adopts the same look, with black accents appearing on the Three Stripes and on the heel cup. A closer look at the upper shows of a textured appearance that’s reminiscent of one of the Predator’s most unique looks of recent years, the Dragon Predator. Tech-wise it’s as you were from the ‘Superspectral Pack’, just dressed up in a new suit for the start of the season.

Alongside the Predator Freak in support of the X Speedflow is the COPA Sense, which makes best use of its leather and knit upper, with crimson popping through for a perfect fiery effect, fitting of the meteorite name. But in a contrast to the Predator, it’s white accents that pop through the heel cup here.

And then we come to the main event of the pack, the X Speedflow. As always, it’s available in both the laceless ‘+’ version alone with the laced ‘.1’. Despite the difference in their appearance, there’s not much between them from a technology perspective, with the only real differential being whether you prefer the security of laces or not. The boot sees the introduction of a new Engineered Agility Frame, connecting player to boot, with the lattice structure engineered to wrap around the foot, providing lockdown and stability whilst being as minimal and lightweight as possible.

The outsole still boasts that lightweight Carbitex Speedframe for instant transmission of power. Rounding off the newly introduced technology, a Engineered lightweight Primeknit upper provides an adaptive fit. The Primeknit upper is the lightest-to-date on a football boot, designed to adapt to the player’s foot. This combines with a new Primeknit Speed Collar for further enhanced lockdown fit for zero distraction.
