PUMA Drop The Manchester-Inspired 'City Pack'

From Old Trafford to the Etihad Stadium, whether you’re on the blue or red half, Manchester is a city united by some of the best ballers to have ever played the game. And it’s for this reason that PUMA has chosen it as inspiration between the latest version of the ‘City Pack’.

Back in 2018, PUMA launched the London-inspired ‘City Pack’ with the help of Pro:Direct Soccer, and it featured special versions of the ONE 18.1 and the Future 2.1. Now though, the attention turns to a new city; a city that holds equal bragging rights with the nation’s capital when it comes to football: Manchester. And for the Manchester-inspired ‘City Pack’ – again produced in collaboration with Pro:Direct – the focus is solely on the Future.

At the heartbeat of the design of the 'City Pack' Future 5.1 is the iconic Worker Bee symbol, which provides the central creative for the silo with additional apparel also sharing the same look. The boot sees a "Black/Yellow" colour combo in recognition of the worker bee colours. The worker bee theme runs throughout including a hexagonal graphic icon which sits bold and proud on the heel, while the theme is continued underneath, this time the soul of the city showcased with ‘MCR’ lettering repeated in hexagonal pattern in the distinctive black and yellow.

If the Worker Bee symbolises Mancunians’ hard work ethic, then the City Pack will be worn by a baller that encapsulates this in spades. Born and Bred in Harpurhey, a small township three miles north east of Manchester city centre where his mum has run the local market café for 10 years, Brandon Williams is the next on the city’s production line destined to make their mark on the game. The left back will debut these boots in Manchester United’s match against Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi Final on Sunday.
