Diadora Launch Blacked-Out Brasil 'Made In Italy'

Few things in life are as aesthetically pleasing to a football fan than an absolute classic of a boot, presented in a perfect blacked out execution. Well folks, prepare to be extremely pleased, because this here is the Diadora Brasil ‘Made in Italy’, and it hits all the right buttons, even with the lights off.

The Diadora Brasil is a boot that’s steeped in the heritage of the brand, having graced the feet of some of the best players of all time, including Balon d’Or winners Marco Van Basten, George Weah and Roberto Baggio. And now it’s back in its ‘1984’ guise, dressed for seduction: it’s black, it’s leather, and it’s okay that you get a bit excited when you look at it. Sure, this isn't the first time that the Italians have released the Brasil in a black-out design, but is that something we're going to hold against them? Absolutely not.

Back in September Diadora provided a whiteout edition of the Brasil, and now, as a counterpoint to that release, the Italian specialists launch this sumptuous black beauty. The K-leather just looks all the more supple and sumptuous for being drenched in darkness, and it’s a key part of what is yet another iconic 1984 Brasil boot crafted by hand from the finest materials in Montebelluna, Italy. And that’s what the ‘Made in Italy’ callout is all about: pure, unadulterated quality.

Despite being somewhat disguised by the dark, the glorious Diadora logo still features down each side of the boot and on the soleplate. In fact, the only hint of colour comes in the form of the Italian flag, subtly placed on the collar and tying into the ‘Made in Italy’ callout on the tongue, both of which attest to the years of experience the brand have in producing some of the finest boots ever worn.

Whilst the boot featured here is the top end 'Made in Italy' edition, Diadora have also launched a standard k-leather version at almost half the price, but definitely not half the quality. It's not a take-down, the 'Made in Italy' is just that extra bit elite.
