Nike have just dropped a black and gold, premium leather version of the Mercurial Vapor XIII and you absolutely love to see it. This here is the latest instalment of the 'Tech Craft' series and it arrives in the most seductive of outfits; a limited edition release of pure desirability. The 19/20 campaign is less than a month old, but have we already seen the best looking boot of the season?

The Nike 'Tech Craft' series is always one of the key releases on the calendar. Each season Nike strip back the knitted uppers of their leading football boots to create sumptuous leather editions that empty shelves in a matter of hours. For the 2019/20 season the Swoosh have singled out the Mercurial Vapor XIII for the exclusive Tech Craft treatment by designing a boot that delivers the most perfect marriage of leather and speed – a boot, which if released in quantity, would potentially out-sell any of the latest innovations no matter their advanced technical performance elements – the appeal and aesthetic of the leather transformation is that strong.

The premium kangaroo leather upper is decorated with elegant splashes of gold on the Swoosh and 'Merc' branding on the instep, but Nike have managed to maintain the ultra-popular look of the standard Mercurial Vapor XIII by incorporating the 'Nike Football' branding into the sole and rear of the boot as well as that aggressive split sole-plate construction. Nike haven't actually announced the exact number that will be released but they are officially a limited edition drop. When you make a boot this beautiful you may as well give the marketing team the rest of the week off – just one whisper of the word leather is job done.
