Nike Launch The Limited Edition Mercurial Vapor XIII SE

Nike have turned up their limited edition Mercurial game for a devastatingly understated take on the Vapor XII to coincide with the biggest shopping day in the world, and in particular in China: Singles Day. The date has become a phenomenon in the shopping calendar and this latest colourway will be on every list going. What's Chinese for 'get in my basket'?

Singles Day kicked off this morning with China announcing over a billion dollars of sales in just over 90 seconds, so that's the sort of platform we're looking at here. It's celebrated on November 11 every year, because, yeah you worked it out, the date has all the ones in it, and is marketed to single people to buy themselves a gift. In this case a pair of Mercurials more beautiful than any potential partner your scruffy ass could ever attract.


Okay. That was probably harsh. But this colourway is right up there from what we've seen from Nike on their twelfth generation Vapor. The black upper has Chinese red in the Flyknit material to match the red soleplate and Nike branding, while the Swoosh is finished in clean white for one of football's most reliable and crowd-pleasing colour combinations. Nike haven't announced how many pairs will drop under the 'limited edition' tag, but if it's got Singles Day attached to it then it's probably sold out already. Every damn other thing seems to be.
