We take a closer look at Nike’s latest on-pitch collection as the ‘Always Forward’ pack arrives in Europe headlined by a “Volt” Mercurial and “Racer Blue” outfits across the PhantomVSN, Hypervenom Phantom and Tiempo Legend VII.
A pack that’s already been a regular fixture in the US over the last couple of weeks, the Nike ‘Always Forward’ collection has officially hit European soil as Nike’s first major on-pitch pack release since the ‘Rising Fire’ collection. Having already enjoyed some game time stateside by the USWNT during their CONCACAF Women's Championship matches, expect to Nike’s roster of European heavyweights step out in the boots once they return to club action after the international break.
The Mercurial dominates the pack, returning once more to the fan favourite “Volt” colourway that’s previously featured on the Mercurial Vapor X and Superfly IV "Volt/Hyper Pink”, original launched in February 2015 as part of the Nike “Highlight Pack”, as well as the “Volt/Retro/Imperial Purple” Mercurial Superfly III and Vapor VII from 2011.
A “Racer Blue/Metallic Silver” unites the PhantomVSN, Hypervenom and Tiempo boots. A colourway that’s not overly associated with Nike football boot design, the low-key colourway with subtle silver accents works well across all three silhouettes—particularly the PhantomVSN with the “Metallic Silver” instep.
The Tiempo Legend, always a winner in blue, returns to a blue upper design for the first time since the Tiempo Legend VII "Gamma Blue/White/Obsidian/Glacier Blue", released as part of the 'Ice Pack' in November 2017. The all blue upper with black Swoosh and silver accents should make this a fan favourite with Tiempo loyalists.
The new Nike ‘Always Forward’ pack will be available from Pro:Direct Soccer from October 17.
