X15.1 | David Villa's Boots

Offering a glimpse inside the NYCFC locker rooms, we managed to get up close with the boots of David Villa - he wears the X15.

As NYCFC rolled out a 3-1 victory against Montreal Impact over the weekend, we took the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at David Villa's personalised adidas 'X15' boots with the help of photographer Nathan Congleton. Carrying his nickname, 'El Guaje', which translates as 'The Kid' he wore the boots for the first time in the game in which he bagged the opening goal. A stand out player, he certainly brought the chaos to the pitch and matched up to the adidas mantra of 'BeTheDifference'.

Much like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Villa has added modifications to his X15.1 boots, notably removing the adidas techfit collar. Not unusual in the professional game.

Another name familiar to us at SoccerBible, Mix Diskerud also got his name on the score sheet. Mix features in Issue 3 of the SoccerBible magazine.

The 'adidas revolution' is on show for us all to see, what do you make of the X15.1? Let us know in the comments below.
