adidas Launch Predator Instinct

Kicking off the 20th anniversary celebrations, the adidas Predator Instinct gets its official launch with a new "Black/Running White/Infrared" Champions League model.

It’s 20 years since the birth of the original adidas Predator in 1994. Fourteen generations later and football’s most famous boot is back again, this time launching in the classic black, white and red colours it’s recognised for. The Instinct formed part of the adidas Battle Pack for the 2014 World Cup but now takes the spotlight for itself in time for the 2014/15 season.

The redesigned adidas Predator Instinct evolves the ‘lethal zones’ concept first introduced by adidas in 2011. Using larger rubber zones than previous models, the new Predator Instinct has been designed for optimised control and shooting.

An increased gel pad gets its place on the instep of a boot, which features the same upper material as the previous LZ model. The most significant transformation on the adidas Predator Instinct is the new outsole with improved flex movement in the forefoot. Traction-wise the Instinct uses the same Traxion 2.0 system found on the LZ, although the middle stud has been moved forward slightly to improve weight distribution.

Minor improvements have been made on the tongue, where a thinner piece featuring a velcro material grips the sock to prevent the tongue from slipping down the boot. All this new technology sits on top of an improved Control Frame which replaces the Sprint Frame on the LZ model.

Visually the famous three stripes have been pushed back to towards the heel but much like some of the older, more popular Predator models such as the Mania and Accelerator the stripes are visible underneath the boot thanks to the transparent sole-plate.

The new "Black/Running White/Infrared" adidas Predator Instinct football boots are available to order now from selected adidas stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer.
