adidas and Greece are back together, and it feels like one of those reunions that didn’t need much convincing.
More than a decade after their last run, adidas has returned as the Greek National Team’s kit partner, unveiling a new home jersey that kicks off a deal running through to 2030. The resulting jersey isn't the nostalgia tour we've come to expect in reason years (although it does get the Angelos Charisteas alarm bells ringing), but instead a considered reset that looks ahead rather than over its shoulder.
The shirt arrives with a crisp white base, sharpened by classic blue detailing that immediately reads national colours. Naturally, the Three Stripes sit along the shoulders and sleeves, doing what they do best, while ribbed trims at the collar and cuffs add a tailored edge. It looks like a jersey built for floodlights and summer qualifiers, but also like something you could seamlessly throw on with jeans and feel oddly put together.
Then there is the pirate anchoring the shirt front a centre, which is a nod to Greek football identity that feels typically defiant rather than nostalgic. Performance-wise, this is very much a modern adidas operation: CLIMACOOL+ tech, engineered stretch fabrics and body-mapped ventilation all combine to keep players cool when the tempo rises and the heat does what Mediterranean heat tends to do.
The accompanying launch campaign features men’s captain Tasos Bakasetas and women’s captain Sofia Koggouli, reinforcing that this is a reset moment for the whole programme, not just one team.
The new Greece home jersey, which is available now, marks a proper return. It's not a throwback or a nostalgic reboot, but a statement that adidas and Greece are ready to move forward together (and looking good doing it).
