Benfica 2017/18 adidas Home Shirt

Buttoned up rebellion. Benfica unveil their 2017/18 adidas home shirt soaked in '60s style and cultural charm. A tribute to the king of the club – Eusebio.

A lustful stare into 1960s will send any Benfica supporter into lucid daydreams of Eusebio running riot in the famous red strip, and that's where adidas found their inspiration for the 2017/18 home shirt. The Portuguese Champions will aim to retain in sharp styles both at home and on the road with their sleek 2017/18 adidas away shirt.

For a club that play in a stadium with such gravitas as the Estádio da Luz, appearance is more than just colour, it's representation. The new home shirt is exactly that for this club of creative class. A classic red polo design with a white collar, similar to the model with which Eusebio made his Club debut in 1962. Smart as.

The jersey also has a tag at the bottom, which honours the former Benfica great, saying simply: Eusebio, the King. It's a symbol of respect to the player that would have turned 75 this year. In keeping with the original 1960s design, the new jersey features red stripes on the shoulder, and the SL Benfica logo takes an oval shape, akin to the 1960s replica.
