Man United Legends Debut 19/20 Kit in 1999 Reunion Match

A team of Manchester United legends had the honour of debuting the new adidas 2019/20 home kit on Sunday afternoon as they returned to the Old Trafford turf to take on a Bayern Munich side to celebrate 20 years since their famous 1999 Champions League success in the treble winning season.

A fitting tribute considering the fact that the new 19/20 MUFC home shirt features numerous references to the 1999 season in which they clinched the treble with their injury time heroics at the Camp Nou. The match saw Sir Alex Ferguson return to the home dugout to oversee his assembled team of legends hammer their opponents 5-0 thanks to goals from current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Dwight Yorke, Nicky Butt, Louis Saha and David Beckham.

Word of David Beckham's appearance certainly bolstered the crowd and the former England captain looked in fine condition as he laced up in his signature limited edition adidas Predator Precision '25 Years of Predator' design to notch the final goal of the game in the final minute.

That specific colourway was made famous by Beckham when he wore them to score England's last minute winner at Old Trafford against Greece in 2001 to send his nation to the 2002 World Cup. A fitting conclusion then that his name was on the scoresheet again in the dying seconds as MUFC legends wrapped up a win this afternoon.

The game also saw provided a first look at the new Manchester United 2019/20 home goalkeeper shirt as Peter Schmeichel donned the gloves to keep Bayern at bay. The game was put on to the celebrate the anniversary of that iconic season, on the back of a particularly underwhelming 18/19 season. A goal from the current manager and fans favourite Beckham ensured the fans went home happy and a lot of money was raised for the club's foundation. Job done.
