The Internet Reacts To United Sacking Mourinho

Three years and a day on from his sacking as Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will be expecting his P45 in the post once more after Manchester United gave him his marching orders. The decision follows a painful defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool, but the problems at United have been about more than just results, with player discontent a real issue. Here we dive into the immediate aftermath of the announcement, from player reactions, to looking to the future...

When egos collide – Seeing how Mourinho and Pogba got on was always going to be interesting. Ultimately it became a question of who was going to be the last man standing. Now we know.

A picture tells a thousand stories – Shortly after news broke of Mourinho's sacking Pogba posted this image on his social channels. He then quickly took it down again. Adidas have since said it was part of a scheduled campaign. Just look at those eyes and tell us you buy that.

Not a Pogba fan? – G Nev certainly doesn't and it seems the ex United right back didn't like Pogba's posts too much...

All smiles – It seems that Pogba isn't the only player to be happy to see the back of Mourinho, with Luke Shaw all smiles as he arrived at training this morning. Either he'd heard the news or he'd had a really good breakfast. You know, sausage, eggs, bacon, the lot. Enough to put a smile on anyone's face in the morning that.

Foresight – This scarily accurate portrayal of life at United in recent months just seems all the more poignant now...

The moment Mourinho got his marching orders – Getting fired and combining it with Lord Sugar was an easy win, sure, but credit to @FPL_Partridge for throwing this one up so quickly. Unless he just kept it from last time...

A fresh start – One of the first to react, and Jordan Clarke seemed to capture the opinion of many United fans.

Klopp Trumps – With stats like this, Mourinho must be sick of the sight of Jurgen Klopp. Trophy cabinets still don't compare though, so at least Jose can still smile about that. That and the ridiculous amount of compensation he has in his pocket, plus christmas off. Every cloud...

Successor? – Anytime there's big news like this, attention inevitably turns to who will be the successor, and Spurs fans are already concerned...

The Miserable One – The thought of somebody working on this solidly for the five immediate hours after the announcement is tremendous. Great work Sir, worth every minute.
