The lines between football, music and streetwear have never been blurrier, and PUMA's latest collaboration with A$AP Rocky is another sign of just how connected those worlds have become.
The global sportswear giant has teamed up with the rapper and creative director to launch two limited-edition jerseys for Manchester City and AC Milan, reimagining the identities of two of football's biggest clubs through the visual language of Rocky's 2026 album, Don't Be Dumb.
It's a move that feels perfectly in tune with modern football culture. We've already seen the huge influence musicians can have on the game, whether it's Travis Scott's headline-grabbing collaborations with Nike and his impact on football-inspired streetwear trends, or artists regularly appearing at major football events and becoming part of clubs' cultural ecosystems. Football shirts are no longer just matchday apparel. They're fashion statements, and collaborations like this only reinforce that idea.
For Manchester City, Rocky has taken the club's forward-thinking identity and given it a distinctive streetwear twist. The limited-edition shirt arrives in a striking black and archive gold colourway, with "DON'T BE DUMB" running down the sleeve and a bold "MANCHESTER" graphic featured across the back. It's a design that puts the city itself front and centre while staying true to Rocky's unmistakable creative aesthetic.
Alongside the retail version, a special players-only edition leans more heavily into City's traditional sky-blue colours. That shirt features subtle "D.B.D." detailing on the sleeve, while the back is dominated by a stop-sign graphic carrying the message "STOP SNITCHIN, MANCHESTER" for an unmistakably A$AP Rocky-inspired finish.
Meanwhile, AC Milan's interpretation feels darker and more aggressive, perfectly suited to one of football's most iconic brands. The jersey combines black and red colours with visual elements pulled directly from the Don't Be Dumb universe. Rocky's red prohibition symbol runs down both sleeves, while "DON'T BE DUMB" appears in bold lettering on the back alongside a prominent "MILAN" graphic.
The result is a collection that manages to balance both clubs' identities with Rocky’s creative vision, something that's easier said than done when working with institutions that carry so much history and tradition.
Speaking about the collaboration, A$AP Rocky said: "PUMA's got deep roots with Manchester City and AC Milan, and I wanted to bring my own perspective to both jerseys. We created something that feels true to my design language and the Don't Be Dumb ethos, while still honoring each club's legacy.”
Short story is, A$AP Rocky is entering football and we are so here for it.
