BVB Bring Back Iconic 93/94 Shirt Design For Knitted Sweater

Delving into their extensive archive of iconic kits, Borussia Dortmund have brought back a belter from the 1993/94 season, recreating the home shirt design in knitted sweater form just in time for winter.

Thanks to their fairly unique colour combo (at the elite level of the game at least) Borussia Dortmund’s kits are easily identifiable. Take that back to the glorious days of 90s shirt design, and what you got were some of the wildest jerseys of the generation. Back in those days, Nike were at the helm of the club’s kit, and they produced some outstanding looks that are still getting the love they deserve nearly 30 years later.

One such design was the home shirt from the 1993/94 season, which saw the bright yellow base joined by a disjointed black graphic that spread across the shoulders and down the sleeves. Delightfully baggy, bright and beautifully bespoke for a time that is now fully back in focus. With that in mind, Borussia Dortmund have brought the design back, this time as a knitted sweater that you know is going on your Christmas list.

Constructed from 100 percent cotton, the design replicates the colouring and the graphic, with the Nike Futura logo obviously missing. Also switched out is the ‘Die Continental’ sponsor, replaced in the same style by the ’09 Ball Spielverein’ (Football Club) wording.
