We teamed up with Pro:Direct and Nike to officially open the doors to House of Merc NYC with 'Time for Legends', bringing together lovers of the game to celebrate the iconic legacy of the Mercurial. And with an actual legend in Didier Drogba turning up, you just know this wasn't one to miss.
As the football world descends upon the biggest stage in the game, a new destination has emerged in the heart of New York City for those who live and breathe speed, culture and creativity. Welcome to House of Merc. The immersive new space created by Nike and Pro:Direct, celebrating the iconic legacy of the Mercurial silo throughout the duration of the World Cup.
Situated amidst the energy and relentless pace of NYC, House of Merc provides a fitting backdrop for a boot line that has always been synonymous with movement, expression and game changing moments. For six weeks, the space will serve as a cultural meeting point for football fans, creators and players alike, bringing the spirit of the world's game into the centre of one of the world's most iconic cities.
To officially open the doors, we hosted ‘Time for Legends’ - an evening dedicated to the players, personalities and fans who have helped define Mercurial culture across generations. Bringing together lovers of the game under one roof, the launch event transformed the space into a vibrant hub of football energy, with drinks flowing, music setting the pace and guests immersing themselves in every corner of the experience.
Designed as a journey through the history and evolution of one of football's most influential boots, House of Merc invites visitors to explore the stories, moments and innovations that have shaped the Mercurial's legendary status. From iconic campaigns and unforgettable players to cutting-edge product innovation, every detail pays tribute to the silo's enduring impact on the game.
But for one night only, those stories came to life in the company of one of the Merc’s most iconic wearers.
Marking the night with a special appearance was Didier Drogba, a player whose career was defined by moments in Mercurial boots. Taking to the stage for an intimate conversation, Drogba reflected on his experiences at the highest level of the game, sharing stories from a career that inspired millions. From pressure-filled nights under the lights to the mentality required to perform on football's biggest stages, guests were treated to a rare glimpse into the mindset of a true legend.
Never one to disappoint, Drogba also spent time with fans throughout the evening, stopping for photos, signing memorabilia and creating memories that will live long beyond the event itself. And we wouldn’t expect anything less from the King.
And because no House of Merc opening would be complete without a statement arrival, a custom-wrapped Lamborghini stole plenty of attention outside the venue. Finished in a vivid electric green and dressed in a bespoke SoccerBible x Nike x Pro:Direct House of Merc design, the supercar embodied everything the Mercurial has represented since day one: speed, audacity and an unapologetic desire to stand out from the crowd.
Parked against the backdrop of downtown Manhattan, the vehicle quickly became one of the evening's most photographed moments. Of course.
As guests continued to explore the space deep into the evening, one thing became clear: House of Merc is much more than an exhibition. It's a celebration of a movement. A tribute to the players who changed the game, the boots that accompanied them, and the next generation preparing to write their own chapters.
With New York City providing the stage and Time for Legends setting the tone, House of Merc has officially opened its doors. A home for football culture in the heart of the city, and a fitting celebration of one of the most iconic silos the game has ever seen. This is just the beginning...
See you there.
