Settpace Creates Nike x Balmain-Inspired PSG Concept Kit

Continuing to bring together some of Europe’s top clubs and luxury fashion houses through the medium of concept kit design, Settpace has unveiled his latest work — a Nike x Balmain concept kit for PSG.

Although he’s been relatively quiet for a period, Settpace is easily one of the best concept kit designers out there, and he’s carved himself quite the niche over the years, pairing elite football clubs from across the globe, with a particular focus on Europe, with luxury fashion houses, foreshadowing the rapid growth of the football x fashion industry before it had even really begun to gather pace. And for his latest project, Settpace once again set his sights on the kings of the collab, PSG, partnering their technical sponsors, Nike, with French luxury fashion house, Balmain, and the result is – quite literally – fire.

The Nike x Balmain PSG jersey design is inspired by Balmain's SS23 Fire Print Shirt, and incorporates Nike's signature style and performance detailing. Using the current Nike template, which was prominently featured at the 2022 World Cup, the look is dominated by a flame graphic that envelopes the main body, wrapping around the front and back. The base of the shirt is black, visible between the licking flames and across the shoulders, where the fire does not reach. The sponsor, club crest and branding are all then presented in a low-key black.

We used to say that these types of creations were pure fantasy, but with recent partnerships and collaborations fully welcoming fashion houses into football, who knows. But if it produces anything as good (hot? Nah, we're not stooping that low) as this, then we'll always be all for it.
