Nike Launch The 'Progress Pack'

Getting ready for the run in once again, Nike drop the ‘Progress Pack’, which features fresh colour updates for the Nike Mercurial Vapor 14, Superfly 8 and Phantom GT II.

Warmer weather, longer evenings, leaves sprouting on trees, can only mean one thing… Spring is upon us, and that in turn means that we’re into the business end of the season, where every game starts to matter that little bit more. Freshening things up with some spring updates for the Mercurial and Phantom series, Nike launch the ‘Progress Pack’ for their leading athletes to wear specifically in the Champions League knockout stages.

Bit of a dual meaning to this pack’s name, in that team’s will be hoping to progress in all competitions, but it also alludes to the fact that the game and its players are constantly evolving and improving - we are on a journey, we are Work In Progress. See what they’ve done there, eh?

The new look has already been seen on pitch in the women’s Champions league, and it’s set to appear again this week in the quarter finals of the men’s competition.

So what we get is a “Football Grey/Blackened Blue/Light Marine” across both the Mercurial Vapor 14 and Superfly 8 and Phantom GT II. The “Football Grey” base is joined by hits of turquoise, yellow and red popping throughout the graphic overlay of all three boots, and it's particularly impressive on the new Swoosh execution, which sees the dark navy inner topped by the colourful outlines for a distorted graphic.

The Phantom GT II is a little more straight forward in that it doesn't have that new look Swoosh on the main branding on the forefoot, instead opting for a standard block colouring, although the same execution does appear on the smaller Swoosh on the heel. The lines that act as a large part of the silos unique identity here are presented in a bright volt colouring, which also flashes through the stud tips.
