The 10 Best Kit Sets of the 26/27 Season

With the majority of kits now released across Europe, we’ve picked out our 10 best dressed sides. These are the teams that look good whether playing at home, away or in Europe, thanks to their partner brands sorting them right out.

Some club’s have all the luck. Not settling for one decent kit for the season, or even two, the teams on this list get the full set: home, away and third shirts straight out of the top drawer. Often complementing one another, what we’ve got here is a diverse mix of the best kit designs from across the continent. The competition is so strong that, without being contrived in any way, there’s only one brand that appears twice (well done adidas). That means we have kit designs from nine different brands, signalling the quality of work in the jersey culture scene right now. There’s also an added bit of controversy on this list through the appearance of both AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons – but who ranks higher? Dive on in and check out who are, in our humble opinion, the best dressed teams in Europe.

10. Strasbourg (adidas)

Let's be honest here, the away shirt is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. But I've got no arguments with that, with the home shirt being a no-nonsense affair in traditional colours and the third shirt boasting a solid navy and black colour combo. The Winamax sponsor works seamlessly into all three designs too, tweaking subtly where needed.

9. Spezia Calcio (Kappa)

Making a first appearance on this list since the 23/24 season, Italian side Spezia Calcio are sorted out by their compatriots at Kappa, with contemporary tweaks on their classic look across the board. Following the release of their home and away kits we argued that Spezia looked almost too good for Serie C. Then they went and dropped a beautiful third shirt and secured their spot on this list without question. Pinstripes, gold on black and beautiful sublimated designs, it's the full set.

8. MK Dons (Reebok)

Set to be one of the more fiery encounters in League One, MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon will face off in what will be surely one of the best dressed clashes of the season. And first on this list is MK Dons, for whom Reebok have produced three starkly different but equally beautiful kits. The clean white home shirt, elevated through gold accents and embossed details, the away shirt shirt, with that properly bespoke graphic in red and black, and then the bit of flair with the purple third shirt. Sure, they all look better without sponsors, but even with the sponsor it doesn't detract. A really solid set, each unique, each beautiful.

7. Levante (Macron)

Macron have elevated LaLiga side Levante's looks over the last few seasons, and for 26/27 they nail all three looks. The home is traditional but so refined, almost like a heightened take of what you'd expect from a standard Levante home shirt. The away shirt is bold in what at first appears to be a monochrome execution, but a closer look offers up maroon accents, differentiating it from a standard black and white shirt. And finally the third shirt does what any good third shirt does and goes in a totally alternate direction, combining a teal base with that off centre band in the traditional home colours. Feels a bit Barca, but that's no bad thing.

6. AFC Wimbledon (Lotto)

So great to see Lotto back on a list like this, and they really lean into their logo across the home and away, with it appearing as a feature on the home shirt logo through the yellow collar and cuff combo, and as a sublimated graphic on the bold red away shirt. The third shirt goes clean, and is the main beneficiary of the set having three different sponsors – that War Child lock up looking really strong and as a feature of the design. Rare to see a sponsor fulfil that role, but we're all for it.

5. Barcelona (Nike)

Yeah, Barcelona. Love them or hate them, you can't argue with the fact that they almost always look damn good. The home shirt is a perfect representation of a Barcelona home shirt (sounds obvious, but amazing how often brands and teams get this wrong), the away shirt is a perfect microcosm of modern Creative Soccer Culture, thanks to the presence of the Mamba brand, and the third shirt is a great example of nodding to the past but with an eye firmly on the future. Nike nailing it for one of their biggest teams.

4. Napoli (EA7)

Said it before but it bears repeating: EA7 have really found their groove with Napoli. It was a rocky old road early on, with quantity over quality certainly being the mantra of the day. But that's flipped in recent years, and this season's set is the perfect encapsulation of the clean trend that has dominated this campaign's offerings. Home is simple, away is elegant, third is bold.

3. Sunderland (hummel)

While the team have properly secured their status as a force in the Premier League, hummel have gone about dressing them to impress as much as their play. The home shirt caught a lot of plaudits, while the away went in such a radical direction (Elvis?!?) that it demanded attention. Not many pink kits in the Premier league. Even fewer inspired by The King. And then the third shirt just finished the set off nicely through some tidy tonal detailing on that deep navy base.

2. Eintracht Frankfurt (adidas)

Eintracht Frankfurt get such a good set, and can rightly be aggrieved at not getting the number one spot. The home shirt shows an inventive way to reinvent the striped look, the away shirt is the definition of a clean design, while the third shirt goes expressive and adventurous. Every one of these is a stand alone classic.

1. Augsburg (Mizuno)

Once again reclaiming top spot and solidifying their positioning as one of the most stylish teams in Europe, the Augsburg shows what a level Mizuno are operating at. Over the last three seasons they've finished first, third and now regain first again. That says it all. And through doing it, they've managed to still keep things fresh. That's a level of consistency that can only really be matched by the likes of Venezia in their prime. What more is there to say? Just sit back and admire...
