Tottenham Hotspur Reveal Safe Home & Progressive Away Shirt Designs From Nike for 26/27

Signalling what many Spurs fans will be hoping is the start of a positive new era for the club, Spurs and Nike have revealed the club’s new home and away shirt designs for the 26/27 season.

Taking our eyes off the World Cup for just a brief second, and the new Premier League fixtures were released today. Tottenham Hotspur, along with technical partners Nike saw this as the perfect time to reveal the club’s new home and away kits for the coming campaign, and you can see why. Spurs have endured a torrid couple of seasons, barely escaping relegation in the latest. But with their survival confirmed on the last day of the season, there’s a renewed sense of optimism under De Zerbi. And new kits are a tangible representation of a fresh start.

If we’re taking the new designs as an analogy of how the team will perform in any sense (bare with me…) then fans may be a bit disappointed with the new home shirt. We say “new” because, of course, it is, but when you get down to it, there’s not much new about it. White with navy accents, it’s unmistakably a Spurs shirt – but it feels a bit uninspiring. And so fans will hope performances on the pitch are more like the away shirt.

For all the safety and tradition of the home shirt, the Spurs away shirt lets the shackles off. It’s a vibrant, contemporary look inspired by Tottenham’s “cultural diversity and urban street style” (I’ll take your word for it, Spurs). With a dark navy body, the front of the shirt flashes with an almost iridescent flow of stripes intersecting right across the front. This one feels in the mould of the 21/22 season away shirt: it’s bold and comes almost with a sense of a prematch shirt rather than an on-pitch away shirt. And fans will want to see bold and adventurous play in keeping with this design ethos and my poorly formed analogy. But there you go. Boring home, exciting away – sure Spurs fans would take that style of play for the season.
