adidas and Celtic FC have today revealed the club’s 2026/27 Home Jersey, a striking design that pays tribute to one of the most important chapters in football history: Celtic’s legendary 1966/67 Lisbon Lions season.
Like all home jerseys, to the untrained eye this may look all-too familiar, treading the traditional boards safely. And it ticks all those boxes, for sure. But there’s more here: created to mark the 60th anniversary of that iconic campaign, the design of Celtic's new home shirt for next season blends modern performance innovation with deep respect for Celtic’s heritage.
The 1966/67 season stands alone in Celtic folklore. Under the stewardship of Jock Stein, Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup, completing an extraordinary year in which they lifted five major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League. What made the achievement even more remarkable was the local roots of the squad: every player was born within 10 miles of Celtic Park, forging an enduring bond between club, city, and supporters.
The 2026/27 home jersey has been thoughtfully crafted to honour that legacy. adidas and Celtic drawing inspiration from the spirit, pride, and unity of the Lisbon Lions, ensuring the story of that historic season continues to be passed down through generations of fans.
Central to the new design are a series of elegant gold accents, chosen to reflect the magnitude of Celtic’s greatest triumph. Most prominent is a special commemorative club crest, created specifically to celebrate 60 years since the Lisbon Lions’ European Cup victory. The gold detailing elevates the classic green and white hoops, adding a sense of occasion befitting such a milestone anniversary.
These refined embellishments symbolise excellence, achievement, and the enduring legacy of a team that reshaped European football.
The Celtic 26/27 home shirt will be available from adidas.co.uk/football from Thursday 14 May.
