adidas Raid the Archives To Bring Back Five Iconic National Jerseys

adidas are back and once again digging deep into the archives to 4 different eras. Argentina 2006. Chile 1994. Colombia 1990. Mexico 1986. All four equally as iconic. The Three Stripes are celebrating these times by bringing back the jerseys that once defined these teams and letting them take over the present day with the same power they once brought.

Football is all about the feelings. The moments, the memories, and the kits that become inseparable from eras. With their latest drop, adidas tap directly into that emotional core, reviving four core iconic national team jerseys.

Front and centre of the bring-backs is the Argentina 2006 home and away shirts, both arriving with Lionel Messi’s name and number on the back. Long before the trophies, before the GOAT debates were settled, this was the moment the world caught a first real glimpse of greatness. The rest, as they say, is history.

The home comes in that classic sky blue and white colourway that is instantly recognisable to all football fans. Teamgeist perfection, and what an era tht was. Clean panels, bold striping, and a silhouette that will always be remembered for those summer nights in Germany. The away version comes in a darker and moodier style that looks just as good.

Colombia. 1990. Now this is an iconic shirt. Bold yellow, in traditional fashion, and those striking tricolour details. This has got to be a fan favourite. Worn by a team that played with that Latin feeling, all that freedom and flair on the global stage. This reissue is everything the game needed and wanted.

Then there is Chile, and adidas have taken it back to 1994. A cult classic revived. That early 90’s adidas aesthetic has always hit different and seeing it back is a sight to behold. This kit feels as powerful as it did back then. It represents an era of edge and identity, especially with those Three Stripes ripping across the shoulder.

And last, but definitely not least, is the Mexico 1986 home shirt. Taking it right back to the prime 80s. This is instantly recognisable. Clean, simple, and smart. Traditional green palette with a touch of white across a very vintage collar. You can’t help but love it. And who doesn’t love seeing the Trefoil on a football shirt…

Adidas continue to deliver on the nostalgia front and we hope it never stops.
