Sacramento Republic FC x hummel x Authmade Drop 90s ‘Fauxback’ Attack Kit

Sacramento Republic FC has turned things back to 1990s sports design with the launch of the “Fauxback” collection. It’s headlined by the ‘Attack kit’, which was was debuted over the weekend in the 2-2 draw with Phoenix Rising.

Sacramento Republic are rewinding the tape and diving headfirst into the golden age of sports design with their new Fauxback collection. Teaming up with local lifestyle brand Authmade and kit partners hummel, the USL side have created a bold alternate reality — one where the Republic existed in the 90s, fuelled by oversized wordmarks, geometric chaos, and mascots with more attitude than subtlety. Leading the charge: the Attack kit.

This is not a throwback. It’s a fauxback. A creative leap into what might have been if SRFC had been tearing up the pitch back when baggy cuts and in-your-face graphics ruled the game. The Attack jersey sets the tone: claw graphics slashing across the shoulders, a chunky retro collar, and a sleeveless silhouette that screams gym-class hero while still delivering a modern fit. It’s unapologetically 90s, oversized and dripping with swagger.

At the heart of it all sits the bespoke Fauxback crest — a sharp-edged grizzly, snarling with grit and strength, capped with a vintage-style “Sacramento Republic FC” wordmark for that extra field presence. Supporting the look is the secondary Claw Ball mark, its knuckle-stars tipping the cap to the California state flag, while an arched wordmark and Tower Bridge Gold star tie the visuals back to the capital city’s core identity. Every detail pulls weight: from the CA State Flag-inspired typography to the graphic accents that echo an era of pure, unfiltered sporting attitude.

The colour palette keeps the nostalgia anchored in Sacramento: Grizzly Brown for power, California Green for state pride, Resilient Red bridging past and present, and Tower Bridge Gold for a historic local accent. Together, the tones bring a retro edge that still feels fresh, bold, and unmistakably Republic.

The Attack kit is a fever dream of 90s sports culture, carefully reimagined through a Sacramento lens. It’s loud, proud, and dripping with that throwback energy — but with enough modern polish to feel completely relevant. A mash-up of eras, identities, and design languages, it answers the question: what if Sacramento Republic FC existed in the 1990s?
