MEYBA Launch San Francisco City FC 2025 Home Jersey Design

Following the announcement of their new partnership last September, Barcelona-based brand MEYBA have revealed their first home jersey design for USL side San Francisco City FC.

Away from the spotlight of MLS, it’s a bit like the wild west Stateside, with clubs free to experiment with their burgeoning identities, often expressed through some radical kit designs. And MEYBA have found it a ripe field to play in, having produced kits for the likes of Las Vegas Lights in the USL and Oakland Soul in the USL W in recent years. Now they drop their first home jersey design for USL League Two side San Francisco City FC, marking the official kickoff of their partnership announced last September. The jersey merges bold design elements with cutting-edge performance tech, creating a look that pays homage to the club’s heritage while setting new standards for style and innovation.

Jonathan Jones, Head of Global Marketing at MEYBA, said: “We’ve been looking forward to this release ever since we announced our partnership. To work with such a forward-thinking club with a such a clear vision is a gift for any kit supplier. We have worked our magic in the standout home kit, which will be the foundation of all SF City FC home kits moving forward, with its bold centre stripe design. This is the first of 3 Kits in 2025 and we can’t wait to show what’s next.”

The kit boasts an iron-grey base, punctuated by a striking California gold stripe running down the centre. Side panels feature dashes of zig-zag detailing, adding a modern edge to the classic silhouette. Designed with Meyba’s omni-move technology, the jersey ensures peak performance and comfort on the pitch. Details like a crewneck collar, stacked Meyba and SF City badges which sit centrally, and striped cuffs complete the look with finesse.

Founded in 2001, SF City FC’s roots run deep in the soccer history of San Francisco. Originally competing in the historic SFSFL, the club racked up three consecutive championships before securing promotion. By 2014, SF City became the oldest community-owned soccer club in the U.S., reflecting a unique ethos of local pride and fan ownership. Since joining USL League Two in 2016, the club has continued to build on its legacy.

Adding another layer of local connection, SF City partnered with San Francisco’s transit agency, Muni, in 2024 for a pioneering sponsorship, and it sits nicely on this new design.

In our 24 years we’ve never had a consistent home kit, so after our 2023 season, we asked our supporters if we should have a standard, traditional home kit. Over 80 percent said yes,” explained Creative Director of the SF City FC, Ian Blackley. “Throughout the summer they voted on what this kit would look like, top pattern, ratio of colours, short colours, and down to the socks. The winning look was a predominantly iron shirt featuring a wide gold stripe down the centre, resulting in a style uniquely our own.
