Hammersmith FC, Kappa And Chase & Status Link up For Limited Edition Kit

Kicking off a collaboration that will encompass a convergence of sports, music and fashion, Grassroots London football club Hammersmith FC, Kappa and Chase & Status have linked up for a limited edition kit.

Feels like every other kit drop is a Kappa kit at the moment, but the Italian brand are impossible to ignore thanks to the sheer quality of their output. And the latest beneficiaries are Hammersmith FC, who announce an ongoing two-year collaboration with Chase & Status with the reveal of two limited edition kits, which also serves to announce Kappa as the club’s official kit partner, supplying strips for both the men’s and women’s teams. It’s an apt team-up, with Kappa's iconic Omini logo featuring a man and woman sitting back-to-back, which in this instance reflects Hammersmith FC's back-to-back league titles for both their men's and women's teams.

Hammersmith FC and Chase & Status merge their identities on the home and away jerseys, which feature the same template, presented in red (home) and blue (away). A tonal print is present in the blue shirt, while both boast ‘Chase and Status’ in the sponsor slot in gold. That gold detail is joined by the club crest and the branding, which features in deeper shades of their respective colours on the shoulders, with the Omini logo rising down, bordered by gold stripes.

Chase & Status, deeply connected to Hammersmith in west London, hail from the area – Will, having grown up there, and Saul who is based nearby. They share a profound love for the beautiful game and the football community, viewing this partnership as a means to inspire a new wave of inclusive football culture. The remarkable ascent of Hammersmith FC, driven by founders Akin and Tommy, culminating in consecutive league titles and promotions for the men's and women's teams, adds a layer of pride and spirit to this collaboration.

Speaking on the partnership Will and Saul of Chase & Status share “This partnership is a way for us to be able to support a grassroots football club whose accomplishments have been huge in its short journey so far, in particular on the women’s side. Aside from being huge football fans on a personal level, we have a history as a band of collaborating with the sport in quite a few different ways. From launching the official England kit back in 2011, and appearing on Soccer AM to performing at matches & on broadcasts. We wanted to build a deeper connection with the game in a meaningful way, in particular, the Women's side - we both have young daughters, so it’s super important to us to be making sure we are empowering them by supporting inspirational females. As well as us having roots in west London, where Hammersmith FC are based, we’re inspired by not only their achievements so far, but also their club’s community-focused ethos, paired with their connection and passion for music.”

Tommy Fish, Founder of Hammersmith FC also comments; “I’m over the moon about this partnership! It’s a game-changer to tell our story alongside these legends and heavyweights of the dance music scene. And to partner with Kappa, for me, the ultimate vintage football streetwear brand, couldn’t be more fitting. Our men and women have won back-to-back league titles for the last two seasons and their iconic logo is a man and woman sitting back-to-back. Music, football and fashion cross over so much. To be able to work with these guys to create kits and content, amplify our club’s successes, and grow together is a dreamland for us. The fact that they’re local lads and that they want to support grassroots, and in particular, women’s football, is a real credit to them. It also adds to the warm, community-centric culture that we’re proud to have built.

Ben Barlow, Kappa UK & Ireland ––commented; “We are delighted to join forces with Hammersmith FC and Chase & Status to create striking and unique kits for both the men’s and women’s teams. The Kappa Omini logo is a visual representation of our commitment to inclusivity within sport, and our promise to support football across both genders from the grassroots up. This vibrant collaboration draws on Kappa’s legacy of merging sport and popular culture – the combination of partnering with this trailblazing football club, and the sponsorship by these musical icons connects authentically with the game and sporting community to celebrate a combined passion for all things football and music!”
