AIK Debut Black Edition Jersey In First Pre-Season Match

Swedish Champions AIK are every bit the club that you wish your club were. The hype heroes in business black, AIK are punching hard and making serious noise from the north. Ahead of dropping their limited edition 'Black Edition' jersey the first team squad showcased it on pitch during their first pre-season game of the new campaign.

Sliding in with stealth onto a snow covered backdrop AIK stood strong in all black kits and boots to take their limited edition collection with Nike to the next level. Kitting up just days before the full release sold out in less than 10 minutes, AIK consolidated their position as one of Europe's leading playmakers when it comes to special edition kit hype. Is there a more flexing sight on a football pitch than a full black kit? Not for us. Less is more, and this is a statement.

The shirt itself is triple black with even the club logo, Nike Swoosh and '1891' branding across the chest all going full blackout. The '1891' inclusion is the year that the club were formed, and replaces the usual shirt sponsor on the home jersey to complement the timeless design. AIK lifted the Swedish title for the first time in nine years in 2018, and the limited edition blackout shirt signals a reset mentality; the gold splashes of the title jersey are gone as the club looks to do it all over again this time around. This'll be the only time the club wear the kit on pitch, a 2019 home shirt with Nike will follow in due course.
