Austin FC & Black Pumas Team Up To Help Local Music Community

In a move that crosses borders and supports the local community, Austin FC, the next franchise set to join MLS, have teamed up with Austin-based Grammy Award-nominated band Black Pumas to launch a co-branded t-shirt to raise funds for local independent Austin music venues and record stores.

Ahead of their MLS bow in the 2021 season, Austin FC are busy building their identity, forging relationships and creating the club as it will be known. As part of this process, they have teamed up with 2020 Grammy Nominated Black Pumas – a psychedelic soul band based from Austin, led by singer Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada to launch an exclusive co-branded t-shirt to raise funds for the Black Pumas’ “Know You Better” campaign, benefiting local independent Austin music venues and record stores.

The shirts feature a mash-up of Black Pumas’ logo and the Austin FC crest. The number 33 adorns the back, a nod to the group’s song “OCT 33.” A portion of proceeds from each shirt sold will benefit the initiative which is devoted to preserving Austin music institutions through these difficult times until it is safe to open their doors once again.
