Nike unveil celebratory Rooney banner outside Old Trafford

Much of Wayne Rooney's career has been the stuff of football fantasy. Last minute winners, titles defining moments and records shattered. In marking an almighty achievement which saw Rooney become Manchester United's all time leading goal scorer, Nike took to the skyline to display their support for a player for which we shall forever remember the name.

It was of course in Everton colours that we so vividly remember the words "Remember the name, Wayne Rooney", however it is in the proud red of Manchester United in which this player has dominated the Premier League for so many years. Having been a Nike athlete throughout his time at United too, his ties with the brand are binding through decades. The brand also celebrated this milestone moment with a special edition Nike Hypervenom dubbed the 'WR250'.
