'Chasing the Sun' Oasis Exhibition

Football and Manchester City was always lodged firmly at the core of Oasis. Few musicians have managed to bridge the divide of rock 'n roll and football fandom like Noel and Liam Gallagher. The 'Chasing the Sun' exhibition celebrates the band from the days of Maine Road and classic Umbro City shirts.

The cover of 'Definitely Maybe' with its subtle references to football, is testament to a band that personified a passionate game. While George Best looks on and Rodney Marsh counters, the two Manchester City and Manchester United rivals were immortalised in a album sleeve form when Oasis launched their debut album in 1993. Lined up with a decent dosage of adidas stripes, guitars and iconic photographgy, this exhibition is a chance to remember a band that defined a generation.

It's worth going just to see those classic Umbro Manchester City shirts donned by Noel and Liam all over again. Memories of Maine Road, it's a feast on the eyes that is open until 25th October. Adding to the romanticism, the venue is the old Granada TV Studios.
