- Manchester City have turned their attention to defender Kolo Toure, after being turned down by Chelsea captain John Terry, City are considering a £12million bid for the Arsenal defender and are also looking at Everton centre-half Joleon Lescott and are prepared to up their bid to £20m. TWO SIGNINGS?


- Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill hopes to complete the £2.5million signing of Portsmouth's defender Sylvain Distin, so he can fly out to Spain this week to join the Midlands club. However, Pompey are holding out for a fee of about £4million. (Daily Express)

- Aston Villa have joined Everton and Sunderland who are chasing Standard Liege's Milan Jovanovic, after the midfielder reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League. (Daily Mail)
