Long before fashion discovered the poetry of the pitch, there was the humble track top. Zipped to the throat and sleeves pushed slightly up, it was a piece of kit that moved seamlessly from warm-up to weekend and from the training ground to the pub.
For Spring/Summer 2026, Supreme and Umbro return to that uncomplicated brilliance and make it sharp once again. Umbro, the double-diamond stalwart of English football, has long been known for touchline nostalgia, and in Supreme’s hands, that legacy is reframed.
Four track tops arrive with distinct football codes: panelled constructions, piping that traces the shoulder line, and oversized co-branding. There’s a boxiness to the cut – cropped just enough – that keeps it rooted in skate-era Supreme, rather than slipping into a pure retro love letter.
The matching track pants complete the picture. Also relaxed and slightly swishy (not the technical term, I’m sure), and cut to stack over trainers, they carry the same bold graphics.
By tapping Umbro’s archive – not for the first time, I must say – Supreme avoids the generic sportswear play and instead roots the collection in something specific: very British, quite gritty, and gloriously nostalgic.
In a season about to be stacked with lightweight layers and graphic tees, it’s these football-inspired track sets that, for me at least, stand out.
Equal parts training kit and streetwear, Supreme and Umbro once again prove that the tunnel-to-terrace pipeline remains one of fashion’s most reliable supply lines.
