In an era where football brands are constantly chasing global appeal, there’s something refreshing about a collection that knows exactly where it comes from and isn’t afraid to shout about it. That’s exactly what Mexican brand Charly have done with the launch of their 2026 Heritage Collection, a capsule that celebrates culture, craftsmanship and identity in a way that the sport’s biggest players simply can’t replicate.
Released in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15 in the United States, the Heritage Collection once again proves that Charly’s strongest asset is it’s authenticity. The world’s leading sportswear brands can create products inspired by countries and cultures all they want, but for Charly, this isn’t a marketing exercise, this is home. Based in León, Guanajuato, the brand has deep roots in Mexican culture, and that connection shines through every element of the Heritage Collection.
Charly have been busy building a reputation for some of the finest kits in the Americas over the last few years. Unlike traditional club launches that inevitably divide fans along team lines though, the annual Heritage Collection brings people together under a shared banner of Mexican pride. It’s a celebration that transcends football allegiances and focuses on something much bigger: cultural identity.
“Launching the Heritage Collection is one of our favorite times of the year as a brand,” said Sports Marketing Director Mauricio Rodriguez Vallejo. “It is an opportunity for CHARLY to connect with core consumers and a new audience, both of whom feel deep pride in their Hispanic heritage.”
For 2026, Charly have drawn inspiration from one of Mexico’s most recognisable artistic traditions: Talavera pottery. Known for its intricate patterns and vibrant colours, the craft emerged through the fusion of indigenous pottery techniques and methods introduced by Spanish artisans from Talavera de la Reina. The result is a collection that feels unmistakably Mexican from top to bottom.
Leading the pack is the Esmerelda Kit, a shirt built around a rich green base accented with orange detailing and a classic tan football collar. The Talavera-inspired pattern is sublimated throughout the design, creating a jersey that feels equal parts heritage piece and modern football shirt.
Alongside it sits the Alabastro Kit, which takes a lighter approach. Inspired by translucent white sculpture stone, the jersey features a clean white base that gradually transitions into a vibrant green-and-orange Talavera pattern rising from the bottom of the shirt. Green vertical stripes and a matching collar complete a look that effortlessly balances elegance with cultural expression.
Rounding out the trio is the Obsidian Kit, perhaps the most striking design in the collection. Rooted in pre-Hispanic Mexican traditions, the black base references themes of protection and mystery long associated with obsidian. The Talavera graphics remain present, while green, grey and red striping adds further depth to a shirt that feels steeped in symbolism.
Across all three football jerseys, Charly have included the exclusive Orgullo Mexico crest, a badge created specifically for the Heritage Collection. On the reverse, the word "Mexico" appears in elegant script lettering, replacing the bold block text seen on previous Heritage releases and giving this year’s collection an even more refined feel.
The 2026 drop also marks a significant first for the series, expanding beyond football with two baseball jerseys, Citrino and Jade. It’s a move that broadens the collection’s reach while maintaining the same cultural focus that has defined the Heritage line since its inception.
What makes the Heritage Collection stand out isn’t just the quality of the designs. It’s the confidence behind them. At a time when many brands strive to appeal to everyone, Charly are doing the opposite. They’re embracing a specific culture, a specific history and a specific identity, and that unapologetic approach makes the collection all the more compelling.
The Heritage Collection serves as a reminder (as if one were needed) that football shirts can tell stories, honour traditions and celebrate communities. And while other brands might borrow from culture, Charly are living it.
For that reason alone, the 2026 Heritage Collection feels less like a product launch and more like a statement of pride, and we're all here for it.
