Manchester United & adidas Unveil Second Consecutive Lunar New Year Collection

Lunar New Year is approaching and adidas & Manchester United are leaning into symbolism over spectacle with this year’s celebratory collection. The Chinese Lucky Knot capsule fuses United’s iconic red, black, and gold with traditional Eastern motifs for a clean lifestyle look.

Adidas have lifted the lid On Manchester United’s second consecutive Lunar New Year collection, and it is rooted in as much tradition, symbolism, and sharp design language as last year. Rather than leaning into the animal of the year, the collection pivots to something a little deeper with the Chinese Lucky Knot. A timeless cultural motif representing luck, unity, happiness, and prosperity. This becomes the visual thread tying the entire collection together.

As usual, United’s iconic red and black form the base of the collection, with gold detailing layered throughout each piece in a subtle nod to the festival culture and a colour long associated with wealth and celebration. The Lucky Knot pattern is woven across the range, not in a loud way, but still carrying plenty of intent.

The lineup arrives with four lifestyle focused pieces. A red t-shirt carries a bold, stylised knot graphic across the shoulders and back, whilst a black hoodie keeps things clean, finished with gold crests and understated knot detailing on the sleeves. Matching black bottoms follow suit, trimmed with gold graphics down the leg that are unmistakeable.

But the standout piece has to be the reversible jacket. Two looks with the same statement. One side arrives in black with golden accents and the classic United crest but flip it around and you’re met with a red base, more gold hits, and the iconic Red Devil sat front and centre with a lucky knot graphic across the chest.

The Red Devils stepped out in the new collection last night as they rocked up to Old Trafford, being only the opening act to what happened to be a thrilling 4-4 Prem classic.

With this being the second consecutive collection, it looks like this will become an annual celebration for the Reds, blending football culture and heritage with every detail. And we are here for it.

The full collection is available now via adidas...
