Taking inspiration from the size and shapes on display in retro Serie A days, Palace Skateboards have teamed up with Turin-based sportswear label Kappa to give their latest collaborative capsule and authentic feel.

Paying homage to timeless Italian street style and nineties British football culture, Palace Skateboards and Kappa team up for a capsule collection that boasts more than a hint of vintage vibes. Think Van Basten, Batistuta, even Totti in his early days and you’re on the right lines. Unmistakeable in its execution, this is a dose of throwback that sits right in Palace’s wheelhouse, and with the Kappa back catalogue its a partnership made in heaven.

Ensuring their first collaboration together got off to a flier, Kappa gave Palace’s design team free reign to to dig into its extensive archive in Turin, allowing them to draw inspiration from its plethora of iconic 90s sportswear. From tracksuits and Kappa-sponsored football kits to pieces that gained attention on the backs of various Britpop stars, the Palace team honed in on garments and various design aspects for an instant 90s vibe.

Stand-out pieces from the collaboration include a crinkle-effect long jacket which has been realised in a technical nylon with the “Maxi Kappa” logo on the shoulders and Palace’s reworked “banda” on the sleeves, while a Kappa 222 tracksuit in polytricot in a Lazio-inspired colourway reinterpreted with a co-branded logo also deserves the attention will receive.
