Club America Drop ‘Las Aguilas x Los Angeles’ Collection

Celebrating the unity and shared values of Mexico City and LA, Nike and Club América have released a ‘Las Águilas x Los Angeles’ Collection, which features pieces inspired by urban art and the vibrancy of the city.

Following on from last season’s standout prematch jersey, Club América are at it again, only this time they’ve given the new design for the 21/22 campaign a bit more of the spotlight. As a tribute to the Los Angeles fans, Club América wore the new prematch shirt as a game jersey for the friendly match vs. Pumas UNAM that took place on 8 October in Los Angeles. The result didn’t quite go their way, the game ending 1-0 to Pumas, but the shirt looked every part like it was made to be on the pitch.

The prematch shirt features a repeating graphic across the whole body inspired by urban art and graffiti, designed by hand to represent the cultural iconography of Los Angeles. This look is then carried across onto the wider supporting collection, with elements of the design flashing through hoodies, tees and shorts. Another element to feature across the collection is the Nike Swoosh overwritten with the "LA x LA" (Las Águilas x Los Angeles) tag.
