Daily Paper Unites Ghana’s Top Artists For Summer Campaign

Boasting some typically over-sized shapes and a trademark bold blend of colours, Daily Paper highlight the latest edition of their African culture-infused football jerseys ready for SS19. They’ve been seen through some striking imagery from the brand’s latest campaign, which focuses on the great music scene emanating from Ghana.

Daily Paper combine their SS19 football jersey capsule collection with a strong musical influence from Africa in a new campaign for which the music scene from Ghana becomes the focus. The Amsterdam-based clothing label has always been committed to ensuring that the rich and diverse culture of Africa is at the forefront of everything they do globally, through their seasonal collections, visual campaigns, lookbooks and storytelling. Here, they pull together the country’s most daring emerging artists including King Promise, Joey B, KillBeatz, Kwamz and Flava to be shot on a Ghanaian backdrop in an ode to the country's fresh and flourishing music scene.

Of the two jersey styles featuring, the striped gradient shirt was unveiled earlier this year, but the campaign serves to highlight another awesome offering from Amsterdam. A wavy design that blends yellow and differing shades of blue with an overlying grid graphic, it sits nicely alongside its counterpart for a duo of options dripping with African vibes, naturally setting up the artists in two opposing teams.

"[In Ghana], there is an openness to explore new sounds, while daring and talented artists are navigating a shifting musical landscape thanks to their devotion and enthusiasm," the brand's head of culture Isaac Tremaine Kimbugwe explained about the campaign. "We are big fans of African music and been particularly in tune with Ghanaian Afrobeats, dancehall, and hiplife, and all of these artists are part of a new school of African artists who are cruising a shifting musical landscape on their own terms."
