A Day With D.C. United's District Ultras

Not short of energy, the red, black and white club colours of D.C. United offer a glow of a tenacious fire in the belly of the 'District Ultras'. A vocal fan group supporting their team, photography student Satrio Prabowo paints the picture of these passionate fans.

All eyes on the pitch and upstanding to be counted, the District Ultras were formed in 2010 with the sole aim of lending their support to both the players and their club. Naturally providing a background of flair, it's another showing of off-pitch energy that is fuelled by the fans in the MLS... even if it would appear one banner holder isn't too fond of the Major League Soccer set up.

Some description

With the shirts looking sharp and scarves, banners and flags in tow, it's a sight not short of passion. Like a war cry set out to intimidate the opposition, they're certainly getting that right. Re-branded in the off-season, D.C. United are another club in search of steady progression in an environment that is giving the rest of the global game a good run for its money, especially when the support of the fans is in question. This group know how to party.
