PUMA have given us our first proper look at the next evolution of their creativity-focused football boot silo, unveiling the Future 10 ‘Teaser’ Edition ahead of the model’s full launch.
PUMA has made a habit of dropping limited teaser editions before unveiling a new generation, dating back to classic evoPOWER and evoSPEED teaser releases as well as previous Future launches in which the brand offers a glimpse of what’s to come while keeping a few cards close to their chest. Consider it the appetiser before the main course. And so we get set for the tenth iteration of the Future silo.
For the Future 10 Teaser, PUMA opts for a clean white base that's wrapped in a bold black and orange honeycomb-style pebble graphic across the upper and forefoot. Traditionally, these disruptive camo-inspired designs were intended to disguise any major innovations or design changes lurking underneath. But in the modern age of leaks and early reveals, we already have a pretty good idea of what the Future 10 has in store. And there’s plenty to get excited about.
The upcoming Future 10 is set to introduce a brand-new anatomical shape, designed to provide a more secure and natural fit. PUMA have also reworked the grip zones across the upper, aiming to improve touch and ball feel, while an entirely new soleplate promises sharper, quicker changes of direction.
Speed and agility appear to be key themes for the new generation too. The Future 10 reportedly sheds around 60 grams compared to its predecessor, creating a lighter and more responsive feel underfoot.
As with previous teaser releases, exclusivity is part of the appeal. The Future 10 Teaser Edition is limited to just 500 pairs worldwide, with each pair individually numbered on the heel, making it as much a collector’s item as it is an early look at PUMA’s next big launch.
For now, the Teaser Edition provides an intriguing first taste of where the Future line is heading. And if the performance upgrades live up to the promise, the full Future 10 launch could be one worth waiting for.
