Reviving the design language of the original 2009 Superfly, a boot so synonymous with Ronaldo, the 2026 CR7 Mercurial Superfly RGN reintroduces one of the most influential boots in football history, the Mercurial Superfly I. This release marks the fourth chapter of the RGN series, following the Vapor trio introduced in 2025, and for the first time the RGN arrives as a Superfly. Each update nods to what made the 2009 model revolutionary, while elevating fit, feel, and responsiveness: a reengineered Teijin synthetic leather upper enhances softness; ultra-thin microfiber delivers a “barely there” touch for high-speed control; integrated Flywire cables wrap the foot and tighten with the laces for a secure, locked-in fit; and Air Zoom cushioning is embedded within the traction plate. Echoing the carbon-fibre soleplate that defined the Superfly I, this setup delivers the snap, traction, and responsiveness demanded in the modern game.
Visually, the CR7 Mercurial Superfly RGN features that instantly recognisable Max Orange base with Metallic Silver split and Dark Abyss Swoosh detailing – an unmistakable palette inspired by the Mercurial Vapor V and the original Superfly. The updated sockliner reads “Made for Greatness” in both English and Portuguese, a final homage to the athlete who continues to define the Mercurial legacy.
