Continuing the story of one of the biggest superstars in the game right now, Nike reveal chapter 2 of Kylian Mbappé’s signature boot series, with the Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X lining up alongside a Vapor XVI and an Air Max Plus VII, all dressed in the same stylings.

Following on from the bold purple debut that dropped back in April 2025, Mbappé’s new collection lands with a fresh aesthetic refresh, one that taps into speed, style, and a little bit of liquid‑metal swagger. It sees Nike roll out a full three‑silo pack, with the Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X sits front and centre as his boot of choice, flanked by a Mercurial Vapor XVI and an Air Max Plus VII lifestyle counterpart.

Officially titled “Plum Eclipse/Metallic Silver”, the first impression of the new colourway is that it’s an unusual choice. A muted brownish-taupe base sets the foundation – call it either understated or unusual and you’re not wrong. But the more you look, the more it works in an odd way. Then there’s the flash of electric lime that cuts through the silhouette, given more prominence thanks to the low-key base.

But it's the metallic silver detailing that elevates the aesthetic into something altogether more street. It absolutely bangs on the Air Max Plus VII, and brings something refreshingly new to the Mercurial. Wrapping around the heel and bleeding along the lateral and medial sides, the chrome-like elements deliver a fluid, almost liquid metal feel. It’s motion, even when static. A visual representation of Mbappé’s own ability to glide past defenders without breaking stride.

Personal touches are dialled in as standard. A bespoke “KM” logo stamps the tongue, a quiet nod to the man behind the boot. On the heel, ‘Zm Air’ branding confirms the tech underfoot, while a vertical ‘M’ Mercurial hit runs down the heel strip

Alongside the Air Max Plus VII, the collection extends Mbappé’s on-pitch persona into off-pitch rotation. It’s a full-spectrum expression of speed culture, from tunnel walk to final whistle.
