Nike continue to blur the lines between the pitch and the pavement with the unveiling of the next Mercurial Air Max 95, arriving in a crisp all-white execution. This launch marks the third chapter of the series, dubbed as the 'Disruptive' of the three.
Few silhouettes have taken over the streets quite like the Air Max 95. Born in the mid-90s, its layered, wave like gradients and chunky aesthetic quickly became a fan favourite, whether it was on the streets of London or the Favelas in Rio. In 2025, Nike are reviving the feeling with a AM95 football takeover, launching a series of Mercurials inspired by the iconic sneaker. The first arrived as an all-black stealth version, whilst the second stayed loyal to its roots in the signature grey, white and green of the sneaker, but now the latest is here in arguably the cleanest colourway of the series. This one is glorious.
The boot once again leans heavily into sneaker heritage, with the Mercurial silhouette taking direct cues from Sergio Lozano’s legendary Air Max 95. The latest edition sees the Vapor 16 reimagined through the lens of the street-loved sneaker, with Nike layering a pristine all-white Flyknit upper with a design that mirrors the AM95 signature wave pattern. Iridescent accents flow through the sides, shifting colour under the light to give the boots that futuristic edge that look simply stunning. Underneath the action, the soleplate takes a subtle centre stage. Treated with a rainbow-sheen iridescent finish, it comes with a bold orange underlay, creating a striking contrast against the pristine white of the rest of the boot.
Despite the visual differences, the tech remains true to the Mercurial vapor 16, with the familiar Air Zoom unit ensuring explosive responsiveness.
