F.C. Copenhagen Celebrate the City’s Creative Spirit With a One-Of-A-Kind 26/27 Third Kit

Featuring unique details on every shirt, the new F.C. Copenhagen 26/27 third shirt design from adidas draws inspiration from Superkilen and the Red Square, an iconic urban park in Copenhagen’s culturally diverse neighbourhood Nørrebro, celebrating the individuality openness and shared identity of the Danish capital.

For those unfamiliar with Copenhagen beyond its footballing reputation, this kit comes with a lesson in the city’s creative identity. The inspiration comes from Superkilen, the celebrated urban park that sits at the heart of Nørrebro, one of Copenhagen’s most culturally diverse neighbourhoods. More specifically, it draws from the park’s famous Red Square, a vibrant public space recognised for its striking red surfaces, bold geometric patterns and its role as a meeting point for people from all walks of life.

Created by Danish art collective SUPERFLEX alongside Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and landscape architects Topotek 1, Superkilen was conceived as a celebration of diversity, bringing together cultural references and objects from more than 60 countries. It’s a place where sport, music, culture and everyday life naturally collide, making it a fitting source of inspiration for a club that proudly represents the people of Copenhagen.

And adidas have gone about translating that visual language directly into the shirt, combining varying shades of red with sharp graphic lines and geometric detailing lifted from the Red Square itself. The result is bold, energetic and quite unique, in more ways than one.

See, every shirt carries unique details, meaning no two are completely identical. It’s a design choice that reflects the philosophy behind Superkilen itself: a shared space shaped by the individuality of the people who use it.

That concept mirrors F.C. Copenhagen’s own identity. As Byens Hold – The City’s Team – the club brings together supporters from every corner of the Danish capital, regardless of district, background or culture. While each supporter has their own story, they all stand beneath the same badge.

Speaking on the launch, F.C. Copenhagen Marketing Director Mads Fjordside Jefsen explained: “Copenhagen is our home, and as a club, we are part of the culture that makes this city so special. With this season’s third kit, we pay tribute to one of the capital’s most iconic meeting places through a design that makes every single shirt unique.”

Modern football shirts are often tasked with telling stories, but this one feels like it goes a step further. Rather than simply referencing a landmark, it adopts the values behind it. Diversity, individuality and togetherness are woven directly into the design, turning the shirt into a reflection of the city itself.

The result is a third shirt that feels like a wearable tribute to Copenhagen's creative culture, proving that while supporters might wear the same colours, no two identities are ever exactly the same. Sure, this will have more meaning to the Copenhagen faithful, but that's sort of the point of a good football kit, right?
