Leeds United & adidas Turn the Clock Back for Design of 26/27 Away Kit

In keeping with the brand’s recent trends, the new Leeds United away kit for the 26/27 season features the Trefoil. But for the club it’s the first time it’s appeared on their kit, making it a marker of their status.

Having retained their status as a Premier League side, Leeds United will be looking to kick on in the 26/27 season, and they’ll do so with the full backing of their partner brand, adidas. This is reflected in the fact that, for the first time ever, a Leeds United kit features the iconic adidas Originals trefoil logo. It’s a huge marker of the esteem that the Three Stripes hold the club in, recognising the size, history and heritage of the Yorkshire side. And the retro callbacks don’t stop there: the shirt design also sees the return of a classic club badge that was last seen in 1998.

With both the branding and club badge in mind this shirt has more than a little bit of a throwback feel about it. Add to that the comeback of the classic yellow base colour, this time in a smart, but striking shade, which is complemented with night navy and white detailing, and you have yourself all the ingredients for a modern classic. As a final and fitting flourish, the Yorkshire rose features as a sublimated pattern in the jersey, adding a depth to the design that acknowledges the enduring connection between the club, the city and Yorkshire.
