For the first time in over a decade, the Three Stripes are back on Merseyside. adidas and Liverpool FC have officially reunited for the 2025/26 season, launching a bold new era with the reveal of the club’s Home and Away jerseys – along with a fully-fledged capsule that signals the start of a new era.
Having previously teamed up through two defining periods in the club’s history – from 1985-1996 and again from 2006-2012 – adidas return to Anfield just as the Premier League champions begin their title defence. With transfers rolling in fast over the summer, and pre-season fixtures oddly played in last season’s Nike kit, anticipation has been bubbling. Now, the wait is over. This is the third coming of the LFC x adidas story – and it’s arrived in style.
First up, the Home jersey. Designed as a pure expression of Liverpool’s footballing DNA, it lands in a rich “dark strawberry red” that feels classic yet fresh, amplified by crisp white adidas three stripes riding down the sleeves. The iconic Liver Bird stands proud on the chest, keeping things clean and direct, while a sharp crew-neck collar and bespoke ribbed cuffs sharpen the athletic silhouette. There’s no fluff here – just a timeless look rooted in legacy and built for the modern game.
The Away kit digs deep into LFC’s rich archive, reworking the beloved cream off-white palette that’s been a cult favourite for decades. Red and black accents deliver a punch of contrast, but it’s the bespoke crest that steals the show – a shielded Liver Bird inspired by the original Anfield main stand from 1892. This is storytelling in design form. Better still, players will have options: two shorts-and-socks combinations let the club mix things up on the road, with both black-on-cream and cream-on-black looks on offer.
The drop doesn’t stop with matchday essentials. adidas and LFC are going full lifestyle with a Pre-Match jersey, a Z.N.E. Anthem jacket, and a limited-edition LFC Samba trainer – all embedded with culture cues and club heritage.
The Pre-Match shirt draws from the legendary Shankly Gates, layering a black base with an intricate deep red gate motif that brings Anfield to life in fabric form. Meanwhile, the Anthem jacket comes in adidas’s soft double-knit with a bold hood, finished with a subtle yet powerful ‘YNWA’ sign-off. And the Sambas? As iconic as ever. White leather uppers, red stripes, LFC crest on the tongue, and that golden ‘YNWA’ callout along the side – a streetwear staple with Scouse soul.
Ben Latty, Chief Commercial Officer at LFC, sums it up: “This is more than just the launch of a new kit – it marks the beginning of a 10-year relationship for LFC and adidas.” And from adidas Football GM Sam Handy: “Seeing our iconic three stripes adorning Liverpool FC kits again is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
To launch the kits, adidas and Liverpool unveiled a short film titled ‘Your Dream. Our Reality’ – a poetic trip through LFC’s past, present and future. The story follows a young girl on a surreal journey: dining with club legends like Ian Rush and Mo Salah, remaking that iconic Gerrard-Xabi adidas ad with the current squads, and taking a trophy tour with Sir Kenny Dalglish before stepping onto the Anfield pitch for the crescendo. It's a love letter to generations of supporters and a bold statement of intent for what’s ahead.
The energy is real, the designs speak volumes, and the partnership is just getting started. With the 25/26 campaign looming large, Liverpool and adidas are back in sync – and they’re making up for lost time with a drop that hits every note. Bold, rooted, elevated – this is how you do a comeback.
