PUMA Launch Borussia Dortmund 23/24 Home Shirt

For the first time in the club's history, Borussia Dortmund teamed up with PUMA to have its fans design their new home jersey, and now the winning option has been unveiled, ready for the 23/24 season.

The Bundesliga title race is going right down to the wire, and Borussia Dortmund are currently in pole position to end Bayern Munich’s decade of dominance. But for a brief moment, attention flicks to next season with the unveiling of the club’s new home shirt for 23/24. It comes with a mark in history, being the winning shirt in the club’s first-ever kit design contest, for which fans and designers submitted more than 15,000 entries. A jury that included captain Marco Reus and BVB legend Dede then selected nine designs that made it into the final round, and this option, designed by fan, Timo R., came out on top after a fan vote.

The design comes in the club’s traditional yellow and black colour scheme, with a silhouette of Signal Iduna Park spreading diagonally across the front, marking it out as truly unique. The main driving force behind the design was the creation of look that was unmistakably BVB, that could not be swapped out with any other club.

A jersey should stand out and be remembered,” explained BVB fan, Timo R., who created the jersey design. “What makes a BVB home game special? The fans, the Yellow Wall and the stadium. Stripes and patterns are chic, but swap colours and logo, leave out the stars ... You know what I mean.”

The result is a home jersey on which one of the pylons of Signal Iduna Park can be recognised, thus immortalising BVB's home ground. The diagonal black stripes in coal structure then recalls the history of the Ruhr area. Will they risk wearing it for their last game of the season? Such a crucial fixture... we wouldn't bet on it. But you never know.
