adidas launch River Plate 22/23 Home Shirt

Arriving with the usual subtle updates to ensure a fresh feel for the ongoing campaign, adidas launch the River Plate 22/23 home shirt.

We’ll be honest, we’ve given up trying to figure out how South American kit launch timings work. With just under half of the games played in the Argentine Primera Division, River Plate have just unveiled their new home shirt from adidas. The new shirt sees the debut of the club’s new crest, which like the shirt itself gets a subtle update from what came before.

Ready with your magnifying glasses? So, starting with that new crest, which has been tidied up a bit, with the lines within deemed surplus to requirements leaving a cleaner all-round look.

Further to that, the iconic red sash band has returned to a conventional width rather than the wider option in use last season, and it now also features a gradient design inside for added depth. The Three Stripes on the shoulders go back to black to tie in with the chest branding, while the biggest visual change is the return of a polo-style collar. Now, if anyone can explain why this has dropped in the middle of their domestic campaign…
