Next up in the MLS kit drops are the champs, New York City FC, and they get a quite literally striking design called the 'Volt kit', courtesy of adidas, with the shirt split in two with a lightning bolt graphic that runs down the centre, separating orange and navy tones.
This year is already proving to be one of the best for new kit designs from Major League Soccer, with adidas working overtime on some beautifully bespoke designs for the 28 teams. As we approach the half way point for teams that have unveiled their new kits, it's time for the MLS Cup Champions, New York City FC to get involved. And boy do they get involved, with a bright and bold new secondary jersey called the 'Volt Kit' for the 2022 season.
The design sees a split of vibrant orange and deep purple, divided by a lightning bolt graphic that strikes down the centre of the jersey. The club crest sits within that purple block on the left side, with the team's well-earned star sitting proudly above. The sponsor and branding standout in a contrasting white, while the jock tag calls out the team name in a stylised font. The design is finished off with the club logo on the back of the neck. A look worthy of the champs.
