Reebok Announces Return to the Boot Game With Help From Dušan Vlahović

Reebok are back in the boot game with a full‑blooded, studs‑in return, and they’ve enlisted one of Europe’s top finishers to lead the line. Dušan Vlahović, Juventus’ powerhouse forward has been unveiled as Reebok Football’s new global ambassador. And with him comes the brand’s first on‑pitch silo in years: the Reebok Sidewinder.

Last year I spoke about why I was excited to see Reebok return to the English game, specifically with kit partnerships with Charlton and MK Dons. Now, the iconic and irreverent sports culture brand have announced their return to the football footwear scene, and they’ve done so through the reveal of Dušan Vlahović as the brand’s new ambassador – a statement if ever one were needed.

For those who clocked it early, the comeback’s first sighting was classic bootspotting gold. Late February, a crisp Turin training session, and Vlahović is out there wearing something… unfamiliar. Clean lines. Throwback cues. A Reebok vector on the flank. Enough to make even the most seasoned boot nerds double‑take. Was it a retro prototype? A new‑gen silhouette? More importantly – was Vlahović actually signing with Reebok? Well, all questions were emphatically answered this week, with the announcement that the Serbian was indeed the latest ambassador to join the Reebok ranks.

I’m proud to join Reebok as it returns to the pitch and reclaims its position in football,” Vlahović said. “Reebok has an incredible heritage in sports and I’m excited to see what we can do together to elevate Reebok Football for a new generation of athletes.

And this partnership isn’t a one‑off marketing play. Reebok’s new ownership and leadership structure has been plotting a return to the European scene for some time. After staking their claim back in the English game through the aforementioned kit partnerships with Charlton Athletic and MK Dons last season, the move into elite‑level on‑pitch boots feels like a natural next step.

Todd Krinsky, Reebok CEO, framed it clearly: “Football is deeply rooted in Reebok’s heritage, and it is central to our future. As we continue to rebuild our presence in team sports, partnering with an elite talent like Dušan signals our commitment to competing at the highest level. This is about honoring where we’ve been while boldly shaping where we’re going.

Reebok’s football archives might not be as expansive as some rivals, but anyone who remembers Ryan Giggs’ blistering runs in early‑2000s Reeboks knows the brand can play in this space. The Sidewinder, their new performance boot, aims to bridge that legacy with modern tech, though full details are still under wraps. What we’ve seen hints at a clean, sharp aesthetic that could carve a niche in a landscape currently dominated by aggressive futurism.

Steve Robaire, EVP at Authentic Brands Group, sees it as a strategic restart: “From the outset, our strategy has focused on reigniting Reebok’s authority in sport through deliberate investments in product, athletes, and global partnerships. Bringing Dušan to Reebok underscores our long-term vision for the brand.

So it seems Reebok aren’t returning as a nostalgia act; they’re stepping back into the football conversation with purpose. With Vlahović as the face of the movement and the Sidewinder on teh horizon, the brand is positioning itself squarely at the intersection of performance and culture – a space they’ve always understood better than most.
