Creative Soccer Culture

Serving Up The First Course Of Our 'On A Plate' Creative Soccer Culture Tour

With the dust having now settled on the first stop of our inaugural “ON A PLATE” Creative Soccer Culture Tour, which kicked off in Miami, we take stock and provide a closer look at what went down.

Whether you’re new to SoccerBible or have been around the block with us a few times, thank you for rolling with us. It’s been a ride. The fact is, we’re just getting started. Throughout 2024 we will be refocusing SoccerBible’s contribution to football culture. The future of SoccerBible will be about unleashing the creative power of our community.

Today, football is a contemporary creative force. Our innate passion for creative football is what allows us to dream of new interactions that shape the future. From art, photography and film to product design, music, and architecture, we believe the intersections of football and creativity are broad and all-encompassing and we want to open this world up to the widest possible audience. It’s a world that we’re coining “Creative Soccer Culture”.

That’s why we’re hitting the road for our inaugural “On a Plate” Creative Soccer Culture Tour; a series of IRL community activations, bringing the spirit and ethos of Creative Soccer Culture to a stop near you. The North American leg of the tour, in partnership with adidas Football, kicked off in Miami on 23 February, and will include further stops in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York between now and August. We’ll be speaking with and showcasing groups and individuals who are doing cool things in the Creative Soccer Community.

For our first stop, we plated it up with some of Miami’s finest to hear their perspectives on the city’s evolving creative soccer scene. We worked with Mr Eats 305 and Smorgasburg to curate a bespoke menu to reflect the variety of Miami. We turned the space into a dinner party scene, adding details like patchwork from jerseys as table runners. Oh, and everyone was given a bespoke plate to take home as a special souvenir.

Guests included the guys from Andrew skate store, who were good enough to answer some questions on the crossover of skateboarding and soccer. The owner of fashion brand 'Simonett' then took attention away from the food by creating two looks on two models to showcase how the Inter Miami jersey could seamlessly move into the fashion space.Meanwhile, we also created a pop up studio for photographer Aysa Perez to capture stylised shots of all the guests, allowing those creative juices to be fully expressed, along with team colours to be repped in unique style. The event was a huge success in all senses. But this was just the beginning. Next up, Los Angeles in April. Want a seat at the table? Get in touch. Don’t worry, we’ll be going global soon enough. We plan on listening to you wherever you want to be heard. See you on the road.
