Umbro Launch Christopher Raeburn Collection with Foosball Tournament

With a forthcoming collection imminent, Umbro took to Bar Kick in Shoreditch to present and party with the Christopher Raeburn capsule. The collection brings archive England pieces from the Umbro history books back together to form a new look.

This collection is one that mashes with convention. Reworking retro pieces and tailoring them with fresh flavour, Christopher Raeburn is known for beautifully shifting fashion trends and with this football heavy offering with a brand that goes long into the history books where football apparel is concerned, it's a collaboration that's as well timed as it is tasteful.

Heading to Bar Kick for a mini World Cup of its own kind this event had players spinning as 16 teams entered a tournament of the table football proportions. You could say it was one for those with an appreciation of on pitch stamina with a fashion edged finish. Strong looks and heroic style.

Naturally, customisation and football go hand in hand in a contemporary state of play. For this event, each team was given a piece of Umbro team wear which they were able to go to town on with numbers and letters and other pieces of patchwork. The collection is one of truly individual up cycling so retaining an independent feel on the kits each team played in offers another dimension of custom takeaways.

With the full collection landing next week, this gave media outlets a chance to get a sneak peak at what this collaboration has in store. From Dazed to GQ with SoccerBible in between, each team battled it out in search for success. Retro shirts mixed with a contemporary look, it's not just simple throwbacks and nostalgia here but a fresh injection of football and fashion which is wholly authentic.

Time to start thinking beyond retro shirts and start suiting up with the extended wardrobe. We're talking boot bags and track pants, drill tops and running socks. This World Cup is certainly going to have a good look. Watch this space for more news on the Umbro x Christopher Raeburn collaboration.
